Voted by their peers and selected by Pool & Spa News as the number one pool builder in the country four years ago, Paragon Aquatech is still the main supplier of pool equipment for the commercial market in the Midwest. Pool Builder, Ron Atlas of Paragon Aquatech, in Wheeling, Illinois, has been using Pentair Pool Products for over 30 years. “We prefer Pentair Pool Products in comparison to other brands for two main reasons: availability and price,” said Atlas. “Pentair’s products are always in stock, which is a huge advantage when we need to get jobs done quickly. We find Pentair’s entire product line to be better than most in the market in terms of performance, and superior in price,” adds Atlas. “When you add all the features up, from the reliability and functionality of Pentair’s products, ease of installation, great service and responsiveness of a national company that stands behind their product, then you get down to availability and price. That’s what sets them apart. The company is simply unbeatable.”
Atlas was first introduced to Pentair’s commercial large pool systems division’s newest product - the Two-Head Smoothie - a new, revolutionary horizontal sand filter series at an Aquatech seminar. Paragon Aquatech was one of the first pool builders to order the product, and have to date ordered seven 34” X 84” THS filters. “The THS filter is the best product for the price of any filter of its kind on the market today,” said Atlas. “It is a well-made, good-looking, simple filter that gives us the competitive edge we need, especially in the renovation, country-club market.”
Introduced in the fall of 2001, the THS horizontal sand filter was designed by industry professionals with years of manufacturing experience. The name is derived from the dual manifold and the unique one-of-a kind composite laminate that gives the tank an attractive, smooth appearance. Since the THS introduction, the NSF-listed, 50-psi filter has been quite successful.
